Together, we can break the cycle of poverty, neglect, and traumaand build a future where every child is protected, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Local Education and Economic Development Organization (LEEDO) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven development organization founded in 2000 and fully operational since 2010 in Bangladesh. Established by a group of dedicated social activists, human rights advocates, and educators, LEEDO works to improve the lives of street-connected children and other vulnerable groups facing extreme hardship.
At the heart of LEEDO’s mission lies a deep commitment to supporting children who endure some of the most difficult circumstances in societythose who are homeless, abused, neglected, or forced to survive alone on the streets. The organization also stands beside survivors of child sexual abuse and disadvantaged women, offering not only immediate assistance but also pathways toward healing, dignity, and long-term stability.
As the number of vulnerable street-connected children continues to rise in urban centers such as Dhaka, LEEDO responds with compassion, urgency, and unwavering dedication. The organization creates safe and nurturing environments where children can recover from trauma, return to education, and rediscover their dreams. Through shelter, psychosocial care, education, and livelihood opportunities, LEEDO works to restore dignity and empower individuals to rebuild their lives.
Guided by a vision of an inclusive and compassionate society, LEEDO strives for a Bangladesh where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and realize their full potential. The organization believes that meaningful national progress begins by investing in the wellbeing and development of childrenbecause they are not only the future of the nation, but also its most valuable strength today.
